Schmoes Know Summer Season Begins

Schmoe responsible for this blog: Kristian

So I am hours away from starting off the Summer Movie Season. Iron Man 2, going to see it at a packed midnight screening with all the mutants I am sure. I will not be surprised if people are dressed with Iron Man suits they bought at Walgreens or made themselves. Hell I wouldn't be surprised if Mickey Rourke himself is there with four dogs. I will accept all of this as long as Iron Man 2 is good!

Summer movies have been horrendous over the last few years. 2008 wasn't too shabby. We had Iron Man, Dark Knight, Incredible Hulk (To this day I believe didn't get the credit it deserved and I still blame Ang Lee's 2003 shitpile) But that was an ok summer. Last year was embarrassing. What the f even came out last year? Wolverine? Gross. I am sure if I racked my brain I could think of some of the turds that were out but nothing that stands out and I am sure we reviewed them.....oh Star Trek, Star Trek and D-9. Those were good ones but for the most part, forgettable season last year. Comedies, Hangover and that was it.

Which brings us to this season, if Iron Man 2 delivers, it looks like we can have an interesting season because honestly kids, nothing too wonderful jumps out. I am ready for Toy Story 3, it has been a while, the fucking toys have embraced 3D like every other Tom Dick and Harry so that cold be interesting and it was INTENDED for 3D so we aren't getting a Warner Bros Clash of the Titans screw job. Shrek 3, hmmmm, we will see. Mike Myers needs something, the Love Guru made Pluto Nash look like Goodfellas. Those are the give me's. The movies, even if they are an abomination, they will still make money.

How about the Last Airbender, based off a Nickelodeon show, and directed by Shamahamalladaman, we could be in for some painful shit or hopefully, because it isn't an idea M Night came up with, it could be good. Let's hope he stays the fuck out of this one to, our luck, he will have a cameo as air.

Comedies this year, DInner for Shmucks, Paul Rudd, Carell, like both of the dudes, I am in although the trailer makes me think I am in for another Cable Guy. But I will give them benefit of the doubt. There is the Wahlberg, Ferrell movie, not sure how this will be. Ferell will yell, Wahlbgerg will take shirt off, Mendes will look hot. I will go in open minded, I like all 3.

Call me an 80's nostalgic sucker, but I am looking forward to the A-Team. I think the trailer looks good, love Nielsen as Hannibal and I follow the UFC and really believe in the choice of Rampage for B.A. So sign me up. After the shit Losers, the A-Team will have to clean up the mess of a rouge combat team who can cause some shit.

That is the jist. I will check in later, as will Mark. What say you guys? Do you care about any summer movies this year?
